Welcome to The Grammar School |
It is a great pleasure to welcome you to The Grammar School website and we hope that it will give you an insight into the ethos of our School.
Founded in 1963, The Grammar School is a thriving community offering a secure and motivational learning environment. Our campus is situated at a safe distance from urban distractions and offers excellent facilities for sports, science and technology. In addition to our academic focus, we are committed to providing a broad social education to ensure that our students graduate from the school well-equipped to face the challenges that lie ahead at university level and beyond.
The teaching staff is dedicated to providing a high standard of education, enabling our students to succeed academically and enter competitive universities of their choice. In addition to striving for academic excellence, the philosophy of the School is based on providing a holistic approach to education which promotes global awareness and a sense of social responsibility.
The welfare of our students is of utmost importance and our Mentor system attends to their individual needs. On a daily basis we promote a sense of community, encourage initiative and develop communication skills. Our dedication to pastoral care ensures that Grammar School students can compete in today’s demanding world.
A full calendar of cultural, educational and social events is organised by the School for students, parents and the wider community. Our range of extra-curricular activities enables students to participate in sports, music, art and a variety of clubs as well as the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. An example of some of the overseas events our students have the opportunity to take part in are: the Model United Nations conventions throughout Europe, European Youth Parliament and Europe Youth Day celebrations held in Italy. The broad spectrum of activities available allows students to hone their leadership skills and gain a multi-cultural perspective.
We look forward to meeting you and discussing the educational aspirations of your children.
